Susan’s Killer Margaritas

This recipe is courtesy of my mother-in-law, Susan Smith. A tradition when we visit her in Arizona and an all time family favorite. These are not the watered down version found in most bars and restaurants, but the real deal, served on the rocks, powerful as martinis. Susan makes her own prickly pear juice from the fruit of the cactus and when available we add some to our margaritas!

Makes 1 pitcher

  • 1 cup tequila
  • 7-8 oz. Triple Sec
  • 1/2 can frozen limeade (use straight, do not dilute)
  • 4 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice, about 3 1/2 limes

Stir all ingredients together in pitcher, taste and add ice.
