Monahan’s Crab Dip
Serves 8-10 as an appetizer
- 1 lb. fresh Jonah crab, or lump crabmeat (if using lump crab meat pick out any cartilage)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup jalapeño jack cheese, grated
- 2 T piquillo peppers or roasted red peppers, coarse chop
- 2 t jalapeño pepper, finely chopped
- 1 t Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 t tabasco
- 1/4 cup Reggianno Parmesan cheese, finely grated
Pre heat oven to 400º. Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl except Parmesan and gently mix. Spread out crab mixture in a casserole or baking dish. Sprinkle Parmesan over the top. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until nicely browned on top. Serve with tabasco.
